This privacy policy explains the information/data we collect from you when you visit this website, how we share or use that information, and your rights.

Crisis Support Network is the not-for-profit organization which may provide an inquiry contact form, a newsletter subscription form and information on www.crisis-support.org, as well as through 24-hour telephone services at 1-800-435-7276.

Anonymous hotline service is available and is defined as a confidential contact between a user and advocate in which no identifying information is verified.

Engaging in our digital services by viewing our website, calling our hotline, or sending digital mail or messages constitutes an agreement and understanding of privacy policy. If at any time, a digital service user feels that their safety or privacy may be compromised due their use of these services, the interaction can be escalated to phone-based or in-person services.

Opt-Out Policy

Crisis Support Network offers non-digital services. Such choices include opting not to engage in digital services and opting not to provide identifiable information during interactions with advocates.

Confidential and
Anonymous Service Options

Crisis Support Network collects limited demographic and geo-locational information in order to provide services.

Any information that is temporarily maintained is core to our evaluation of services provided to persons contacting the organization. Identifying information is in no way cross-verified.

A user’s information, including any personally identifiable information, will only be shared with persons implicitly linked to our service operations.

We may collect information from a user for digital or telephone advocacy service on a voluntary basis, and it can include:

– Name

– Gender

– Age

– City

– State

– Zip

– How user-heard about the service

We do not provide, sell, trade or rent personal information that users provide.

In depth or on-going advocacy services may require the collection of some information to provide quality assistance.

All advocates, including volunteers, are required to sign a client confidentiality policy. We do not disclose information to any outside party without the informed consent of the program participant. {RCW 70.123.076(1) and WAC 388-61A-0310. If disclosure of a recipient’s information is required by statute or court order, Crisis Support Network will make reasonable attempts to provide notice to the recipient affected by the disclosure of information. If personally identifying information is or will be disclosed, Crisis Support Network shall take steps necessary to protect the privacy and safety of the persons affected by the disclosure of the information. Funders are entitled to financial details regarding how their money is used.

 

To comply with tribal, federal, state, or territorial reporting, evaluation, or data collection requirements, Crisis Support Network may share data in the aggregate that does not contain personally identifying information and that: (a) pertains to services to their clients; or (b) is demographic information.

 

WAC 388-61A-0340 The right to privacy and confidentiality of the information shared may have exceptions such as, specific professionally required mandated reporting of child abuse or neglect, duty to warn of imminent harm, or written release from the user.

 

Opt-in newsletter/updates: Users can opt-in to receive regular messages providing updates relevant issue-related content. Users can opt-out any time. While numbers may be scrambled, but users may provide voluntary feedback to survey questions.

 

One-time information messages: These are one-time messages are sent from a user to connect with Crisis Support Network.

 

Third Party Digital Providers and Data Breech

Unauthorized access to, unauthorized acquisition of, or accidental release of personal information that compromises the security, confidentiality, or integrity of personally identifying information constitutes a data breach.

If the Executive Director is notified upon identification of an actual or suspected breach of data, the organization will conduct a notification to any known affected parties.

Reasonable attempt shall be made to notify clients whose PII has been compromised or released without authorization. A program staff person, in coordination with the director, will attempt to notify the user that their PII has been disclosed.

Legal Disclosure

We may access and/or disclose personally identifiable information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or (b) comply with legal process served on us.

 

Mandatory Reporting

The Hotline’s advocates are considered mandatory reporters by law. Users will be made aware that in situations regarding the welfare of a minor, any locating information disclosed will be reported to child protective services as required.

 

Technical Information

Our web servers automatically collect non-personal information such as the domain name of the Internet access provider, the Internet protocol address used to connect the computer to the Internet, the average time spent on our website, pages viewed, information searched for, access times and other relevant statistics.

Crisis Support Network may use cookies to enhance your experience while using our site. Cookies are pieces of information that some websites use to transfer to the user’s computer. Use of cookies makes web navigation easier by performing certain functions such as saving your place, your personal preferences and to make sure you don’t see the same pop up repeatedly. Donations

When you make a donation by clicking the Donate link in the menu, we must share some of your personally identifiable information with third parties in order to process the transaction. For example, we must share your credit card number with our credit card processor in order to process your payment. These third parties are not allowed to use personally identifiable information except for the purpose of providing these services. We do not share any of your personally identifiable information with unrelated third parties for their own marketing purposes.

We reserve the right to change, modify or add to our privacy policy to protect the ethical standards provided or to meet the changing demands of digital advocacy. We encourage you to please review changes frequently.
